In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, no Veterans’ Day ceremony was posted or publicised, but that didn’t keep Needham’s citizens from gathering at Memorial Park to acknowledge our town, our state, and national heroes.
Honor Guards, VFW Post members, town and state officials and residents all came together, masked and maintaining their distance, to honor and thank those who sacrifice for their country. State Representative Denise Garlick set the tone for the day. In her remarks, she commented that Massachusetts prides itself on what it does for its veterans, but it still falls woefully short of what we need to do to honor their service.
