On January 6, 2021 the Massachusetts Legislature passed legislation to create a commission to make recommendations to eliminate racial inequities, such as women of color dying of pregnancy-related causes. Senator Rausch, who represents the Norfolk, Bristol and Middlesex district in the Massachusetts State Senate sponsored the legislation, along with Representatives Kay Khan and Liz Miranda.
