• The Rotary Club of Needham selected Rebecca Carp for the scholarship because she not only excelled in academics, but she gave back to the community through her work with Best Buddies as well. Like many other modern high schools, Needham High School has over the last few decades, placed greater influence in getting their students out into the community, thinking about what they might like to change in our community, and giving them the tools to make a difference. What results are generations of service-minded individuals who do an incredible amount to improve our way of life. Although it makes for a better world, it also makes the job harder for organizations like the Needham Rotary Club, who have a tradition of their own: honoring a deserving graduate with a scholarship. With so many wonderful options out there, they could not help but celebrate when they made their choice for 2023. We joined them for their annual picnic, and met their featured guest, Rebecca Carp.
