• The Moderator’s traditional bow-tie signaled the intent to conclude business on Monday, May 13th. But with a full docket, including several contested articles, it would take an extended session to do so. Twenty-one items were on the agenda for Town Meeting as they gathered for the third night of deliberations on Monday the 13th. With subjects as diverse and divisive as expanding the town’s plastic ban, investing in the creation of a Quiet Zone, and an effort to pull the reins in on the development of large houses, members had a lot to talk through. In a session that stretched past midnight, those discussions took place. While they were able to put all the open matters to bed, that does not necessarily mean Town Meeting has heard the last of them.
