A few big discussions got underway at this week’s Select Board meeting. A couple of environmental initiatives got underway, as the Board adopted a policy aimed toward establishing the town as a Climate Leader. They also moved forward with the planning of a retaining basin at DeFazio Field to help reduce flooding and pull phosphorus out of stormwater, although they cautioned that the site may be impacted by the upcoming Pollard renovation project. The board received good news from the finance director regarding Needham’s bond rating. However, one of the most discussed items was a reevaluation of the Envision Needham Working Group, where some changes may be on the horizon.
