Although the Select Board continues to meet as needed over the summer, it holds only one regular meeting each month, and July’s was packed. Newly appointed Town Manager Katie King was officially sworn in, and the board tackled several key issues. They deliberated on how to enforce an alcohol license suspension for a local restaurant that served minors, seeking a balance between making a strong statement and avoiding undue harm to the business. The board also heard an update from the Stormwater Bylaw Working Group, which plans to hold a public hearing in early August.
