On the agenda, it may have said “Select Board Transition”, but it was actually a celebration of Marianne Cooley and her contributions to the town that lead off the formal agenda of the evening. Poignant and funny, several notable leaders, past and present, had a chance to remember her efforts and accomplishments at the start of her last evening on the board. Things took a serious turn with the discussion of Needham’s law enforcement and their role during the nation’s immigration crack-down. It was a chance to codify what they have been practicing and clarify what is, and is not possible.
