Zoning Board of Appeals, 7/16/26

The Needham Zoning Board of Appeals met on July 16th with three items on the agenda. There was an application for a Special Permit at 8 Hunnewell Street for an enlargement of the dwelling to accommodate a kitchen expansion. The agenda item was ultimately pushed to the next ZBA meeting to dig out more the history of the property. They also withdrew without prejudice an application at 117 Kendrick Street where The Hickory Club seeks to allow the operation of an indoor athletic or exercise facility.

Case #1: 117 Kendrick Street
The Hickory Club, applicant, applied for a Special Permit to allow the operation of an indoor athletic or exercise facility, together with its customary accessory uses. Request for Withdrawal without Prejudice.

Case #2: 8 Hunnewell Street
Jane Spirovski, applicant, applied for a Special Permit to allow the extension, alteration and enlargement of the lawful, pre-existing nonconforming single-family dwelling. The relief is associated with an enlargement to accommodate an expanded kitchen. The applicant proposes to maintain the non-conforming Ardmore Street front yard setback of 16.3’ by extending the exterior wall by approximately 7.2’.
